Thank you for considering acupuncture as a road to your recovery.  There are 3 things to do before your appointment that can be helpful for your treatment:

1) Please wear "Loose" fitting clothing that can be moved and manipulated somewhat.  I try to disrobe people as little as possible so it's helpful if clothing isn't so tight that it cannot be relocated within reason.  I do NOT needle through clothing.

2) Please eat something within an hour of your appointment.  It can be a meal or a snack.  This is helpful in enhancing the strength of the treatment.  This can also help to minimize any potential side effects of treatment if you are a new client and still don't know how acupuncture will effect you.

3) On the day of your appointment please refrain from brushing or scraping your tongue.  In this medicine we often use the tongue and the radial pulse as a vital sign of sorts.  These diagnostics can often help us clinicians peer into the body's internals', so the more accurate the color and coating of the tongue the more clearly this lens can be viewed through.
