Aloha,

My name is Tony, and I am the primary clinician here @ Ocean Beach Family Acupuncture. My journey in healthcare began in 2003. I was first certified as a Caregiver in Southern Oregon where I trialed the profession at an Adult Foster Home. After dipping my toes in the water, I decided to further my healthcare education by applying for a local CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) program. After my acceptance, completion, and licensing through this program I was fortunate enough to work for a local Hospital on their Orthopedic and Neuroscience floor. Over the next 4+ years I continued to expand my medical experience by working (and floating) to the majority of non-specialty floors of the hospital while going to school on my off hours to pursue my next evolution as an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse). After my acceptance, completion, and licensing through the local LPN program I was fortunate enough to work for many different types of facilities throughout my nursing career; Alzheimer's/Dementia, Rehabilitation, Skilled Nursing, Long Term Care, Hospice, Respite, Addiction and Recovery, as well as Home Care.

After about a 15 year history of experiencing Mainstream Healthcare my spirit was called to express an alternate vision of the contemporary healthcare model. I was called into service as an East Asian Medical Practitioner. After acceptance, completion, and licensing through my Graduate School Program, I was fortunate enough to be recruited by our Graduate School Clinic Office as a Teaching Assistant, Clinic Operations Lead, Clinic Evaluation Team Lead and assistant to the Clinic Director; Concurrently, I was blessed to work at a local Community Acupuncture Clinic near my home, as well as a Licensed Clinician at our School's afterhours Grad Care Program.

After the COVID disruption of the world, I decided to revisit my inner compass and consider a place to settle down for the remainder of my career. After much prayer and meditation I felt the pull of the Pacific Northwest once again. I truly cherished my years in Oregon, and look forward to cherishing my years here in Long Beach. :o)
